Lied in the Gulf of Thailand, just 62 nautical miles from Rach Gia, Phu quoc is becoming one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Vietnam with beautiful white sandy beaches with year-round sunshine, at a comfortable temperature of 27 degrees Celsisus.
When to go:
Phu Quoc has a monsoon sub-equatorial climate. There are two seasons in the year: the rainy season (October only) and the dry season (November to September). During the rainy season, it is still possible to travel to Phu Quoc, although you should expect daily and often heavy rain. The most popular time to come to Phu Quoc is during the dry season.
Getting there
No visa required for tourists coming from south-east Asia countries.
Air Five Vietnam Airlines flights a week from HCMC. Return flight from Dong Duong Airport (tel:846-086) Tickets $50.
Boat Daily trips from Nguyen Cong Tru (tel:863-242). Return journeys leave Phu Quoc Port (tel: 846-140) at 9am daily.
